The college life becomes more enjoyable to the students when, besides hardcore
professional studies, they enjoy the freedom to nurture their hobbies or
talents in creative & performing arts like singing, dancing, painting,
acting (drama), playing musical instruments, photography, story/poem/literary
article writing (in magazine) and so on apart from taking part in games
& sports, quiz, debate and other techno-fun competitions. The students
showcase their multi-faceted talents through the annual fests/regular club
activities and cultural magazines (like Verve
and Kalmadhumas)
or technical magazines (like Power
Story and MCA
Tech Mag)
The Student Welfare Committee organizes

of number of performing arts like solo vocal, band,
dance, drama, choreography, fashion show etc. Students of other
colleges in and around the city take part in this 2 or 3-day long annual
extravaganza full of colour and vibes. The performance by popular national
or state level artists or bands adds another dimension to the fest.
The annual games and sports festival Game
of Thrones (GOT) is also organized by the Student Welfare Committee
and it includes competitions of both indoor and outdoor games including
Badminton, Carom, Chess, Table Tennis, Volley Ball,
Football, Cricket , Tug of War.
The annual Technical Fest TECHTRIX (conducted
over 2 days by the Student Welfare Committee) and departmental technical
programs like Innovision or Alphatec
explores the technical acumen, intelligence and natural talents of the students
through Codathon (Coding & Debugging)/
Gaming, Mathemagic, Spell-Bee, Su+doku, Quiz competitions,
model making, robotics etc.
The institute traditionally encourages, promotes and sponsors such student
fests and extra-curricular activities so as to help unleash the creative
and natural talents of the students.
